Every morning, it warms my heart to open my Advent of Change calendar. The little notes about how my money helped a charity remind me that humanity is good. It's a nice contrast to the shopping craze that Christmas often bring.
Presents buying has now become a financial transaction with the "what do you want for Christmas'. You end up just doing someone else’s shopping list rather than really creating a moment of delight when they open their present. I much prefer the good food, good wine and family chat!
We’ve just been moved into Tier 3 in London today - it’s nearly like a lockdown again - so Christmas will be very limited and I’ll really miss seeing my family in France. We may try to see how we can meet up with the British family. How about you?
All this time at home during the holidays will hopefully allow me to progress on my YouTube channel. Thanks to those of you who filled the survey, it seems that hotel tours is a favourite. Have a look at my now published videos of my favourite hotel in the UK, a short hotel tour of Thyme hotel and spa, or the fail prooof websites to find exquisite escapes (no, they are not your usual suspects). If you like what you see, don't forget to subscribe to the channel!
In the spirit of the consistency that I said I wanted to achieve from now on, this newsletter comes to you even though I didn’t publish a blog post. However, there are a few new boutique hotels or B&Bs and villas that I listed below.
I hope that you have a nice lead up to Christmas.
