The ultimate list of all the hotels that opened in 2024 + a little gift
The 18 new hotels for 2024 that are worth booking for 2025 and wrapping up the year with gratitude #95
Well, here we are—the last newsletter of the year! I didn’t quite manage to send one every single week, but I think I’ve shared enough stories and insights to keep you company throughout the months. I hope they’ve been enjoyable.
As we close out 2024, I want to start with a heartfelt thank you. Thank you to those of you who have been with me from the beginning, and to those who’ve joined along the way. Every like, comment, or note of encouragement makes my day. Your presence and loyalty mean the world. Writing about my travels, musings, and discoveries wouldn’t be the same without knowing you’re out there reading along.
A little christmas gift 🎁
With the festive season upon us, I’ve decided to give you a small gift: from now on, I’m removing the paywall on the newsletter archives. You can still support me through paid subscriptions if you wish, but I want to free myself from the relentless race for paying subscribers. Let’s face it, it’s a bit exhausting to open a newsletter and hit a paywall afer a few lines, isn’t it?
Access to the Google Map with all my finds will remain exclusive for now, to honour existing annual subscriptions, but I’m also working on a new directory that I hope will be even more useful and exciting for you.
Reflecting on 2024: inner travel
This time of year often brings annual reviews, and I’m no exception. At the start of 2024, I set a few bold intentions: a new job, a house on the Île de Ré… But here we are, and neither of those dreams came to fruition.
Instead, the year turned into something more introspective. It was a year of inner travel, one of rethinking how I see myself, my goals, and my life. While I didn’t achieve everything I envisioned, I’ve found clarity and peace in areas I hadn’t expected.
All the hotels that opened in 2024
For those of you dreaming about 2025 travels, I’ve listed below all the hotels that opened this year from my initial list of January. As it could be a bit long, I only list here those with a pool. It’s packed with boutique gems that I think you’ll love—whether for their unique style, serene pools, or idyllic locations. This is ahead of the publication of the 2025 expected new openings that I share every January.
Thank you again for being here. Your support, kindness, and curiosity fuel everything I do. Enjoy the holidays and see you in 2025.
All the new boutique hotels with pool that opened this year
I revisited my list of 40 new hotels with pools set to open in 2024 to give you only the best. Often when I revisit them, I note that some of them are actually not finished yet or that their actual design or style doesn’t match my taste. As a result there are a few that I deleted from my database too. And out of the 40, there are now 18 that are opened and can be worthy of a mention in From the Poolside!
So below are the best ones, small unique hotels with no more than 45 rooms usually and all with a pool and a certain je ne sais quoi. Enjoy!
