Whispers of French pop and a cozy proposal
A candlelit Sunday in London inspires a new project for fellow hotel lovers #93.
I’m writing this to you on a grey November Sunday afternoon at my desk in my office. It’s dark outside at 16h30 in London since we changed clocks. I lit a scented candle (the current one is from Hotel Esencia), I put an autumn cozy playlist on Spotify or a relaxing jazz one or any random one that shows up on my screen. Today it’s a mix based on Clara Luciani and Juliette Armanet. My French readers will recognise those names. If you don’t know them look them up, they are some talented French ladies. I dare you not to dance on Juliette Armanet’s Le Dernier Jour du Disco!
I used to hate Sunday evenings but now I really like them. Along with a call with my mum, it often involves the three of us catching up on Strictly if we’ve been out on Saturday evening or the results show. Juliette Armanet and Strictly: quite a good summary of my dual cultural environment!
I treasure those moments thinking that in a few months Mademoiselle will be at Uni and not sitting next to me on the sofa…
On a totally different note, I’d like again to get your views on an idea that I have. I am thinking of making my extensive database of collected hotels into an online directory that you could search. Paid subscribers can already enjoy the map but this would be a separate tool. The directory would allow you to filter hotels by pool or no pool, destination and price. It would have all the hotels that I listed in this newsletter plus the blog and more.
Would you be interested in accessing a carefully curated directory of unique hotels? This would help you discover exceptional places to stay without endless searching across multiple website
If you have any other comments or features you’d like to see in this directory, please comment below or reply to this email.
If there’s enough interest, that will be my end of the year project and I will aim to launch it at the beginning of 2025. I love having small tech projects like that!
